Hellfire Pass

Overview

We redeveloped audiovisual material shown and heard at the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre in Thailand, and the audio self-guided tour material for visitors who choose to walk the Pass. Great use was made of archive audio history interviews conducted by the Australian Government Department of Veteran Affairs with Australian Veterans of the Burma-Thailand Railway. Archive material (still and moving image) and motion graphics (such as animated maps) illustrated the aspects of the story that were highlighted in the interpretive centre. Additional original content was produced on location. The audio history interviews were used to form the basis for the audio tour, woven into a scripted narration which included sound design elements to deliver the visitor an immersive and moving experience as they walk the Pass.
